The only Nottingham Forest fan I listened to on radio. I remember the days of 90mins football. You will be sorely missed. Rest in peace sir.

He grew from being my customer at the bank to my big brother, and very dear friend. I would have said ‘godfather’ but in death he won’t approve of that. He would have said in his usual adulterated Yoruba “Ah!!! Ma je kan gbo!!!!” or“Ah!!! Mi o to be”. He indulged me in many ways, always had his doors open, even when all I want to do is whine about my job, or anything else. when he is unavailable to take my calls, he would chat with his signature exclamation!!! He knew and supported all my dreams, in ways too… Read more »

A good man he was, kind hearted, easy going and humble to the core. He was passionate about sports and then football, evidenced by his life works and the fact that he died on the pitch playing footie. Your passion for sports endeared you to me. Been a very good fan of your programme as far back as years 2000. Finally had the opportunity to meet you 2016 @ the Agege stadium . Despite having a good time watching MFM played. We talked on the sideline on sports development in Lagos and it was obvious you have a call in sport for Lagos. Egbon as I started calling you after that encounter. You were God sent . A gentle man to the core and a professional per excellence . You invited me on several occasions to sport programmes… Read more »

If only tears and grief could bring you back!!! Uncle Deji!!! I call you that even though my knowing you was from work. You became an ‘egbon’ to me. You would always say “Hello!!! How have you been? Long time! How are your boys? – your line when you asked after my hubby and son. Your asking after my welfare was always, always genuine and not superficial. You were a very good man! Very kind. You always made people feel very comfortable with you. No airs!!! You would throw banters and everyone around would laugh so heartily. Your team of… Read more »
